We have started learning about Victorian Britain in preparation for reading the Dickens classic 'A Christmas Carol'. We were surprised to learn that children our age were sent out to work, and that only boys were allowed to go to school. We have explored what life was like for the rich and for the poor during the Victorian times and why Charles Dickens wanted to write stories to show this divide. We are very much looking forward to starting the story.
