This week marked our final week of 2025 and what a fantastic way to end the term! 🎄✨
📚 English
To finish our English learning, we completed our letters to Stig, using emotive language and thoughtful questions to ask where he is and why he left. During our whole-class reading sessions, we also finished reading Stig of the Dump. As a class, we compared the ending of the book with the ending of the film and shared our opinions. 🎬📖
➕ Maths
In maths this week, we completed our mental addition unit and proudly showed Mrs Broda-Kaye the strategies and skills we can use to solve maths challenges. We also used Dienes equipment to explore how digits change in the hundreds, tens and ones. 🔢🧮
🏺 History
To conclude our Ancient Egyptians topic, we completed a timeline assessment. Mrs Broda-Kaye and Mrs Tinnon were amazed by how many facts we remembered, including hieroglyphics, Tutankhamun, the River Nile and Pharaohs! 👑📜
🕯️ RE & Christmas Activities
On Thursday, we made our Christingles ready for the church service. We then drew and labelled a Christingle and learned what each part represents. ✨🍊🕯️
🎄 Christmas Fun
We ended the week with an amazing Christmas Fair, raising over £600 for our school! A huge thank you to the Year 5 and 6 children who were brilliant sellers and helped us with games and purchases. To celebrate all our hard work this term, we enjoyed a special Christmas film and fun day. 🎥🎅
🌟 What a Term!
We have had an amazing term full of exciting learning opportunities. Year 3 would like to wish all our friends, families and our wider community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🎄🎉🎁
