We have had a fantastic and busy week full of creativity, teamwork and brilliant learning across the curriculum!
➕ Maths
In Maths, we have been working hard on formal addition methods with carrying. We have explored why choosing the most efficient method is important and how it helps us solve problems more accurately. To deepen our understanding, we became maths detectives and investigated where Colin the Caribou had made mistakes — we were brilliant at spotting and correcting them!
✏️ English
In English, we focused on improving our writing by adding rich description to our fronted adverbial sentences. We explored Lila’s journey and thought carefully about what she might feel, see, hear and smell, which helped us create vivid and imaginative sentences.
🎨 Art
We were incredibly proud to complete our busts of Nefertiti and our sphinx sculptures by carefully adding paint. We then designed and drew Egyptian gods on papyrus paper — our creativity truly amazed Mrs Broda-Kaye!
💛 PSHE
To support Mental Wellbeing Week, we created our own islands to reflect on our personal safe spaces. This thoughtful activity helped us talk about what makes us feel calm, happy and supported.
🛡️ History
In History, we explored how the Vikings raided and discovered why the fierce berserkers were given their famous name. We asked brilliant questions and showed great curiosity about life in the past.
We are so proud of all the hard work, creativity and enthusiasm shown this half term. Mrs Broda-Kaye agrees that we deserve a reastful half term!
