What a fantastic and busy week we have had to end our term! 🎉
✍️English, This week we have been incredibly creative and thoughtful in our writing. We wrote powerful letters in the first person, pretending to be Lila. In our letters, we explained to her father why we had run away, using emotive language to really capture Lila’s feelings and experiences. We worked hard to include a range of sentence openers and even challenged ourselves to use rhetorical questions to engage the reader. Mrs Broda-Kaye was extremely impressed with the quality of our writing and the maturity shown in expressing emotions so clearly—what an achievement!
➗ Maths In Maths, we have been building our confidence with division. We have focused on using our times table knowledge to help us solve problems more efficiently. For example, understanding that if we know 12 ÷ 4, we can use that knowledge to solve 120 ÷ 4. We also used bead strings to support our learning, helping us to visualise division and better understand remainders. This hands-on approach really helped bring our learning to life!
🌍 Geography, To end our unit, we completed our assessment work on the South West of England. We explored a range of fascinating topics including the coastline, tourism, landscapes, history, and the impact of the Gulf Stream. We worked hard to present our knowledge clearly and thoughtfully, showing just how much we have learned about this region.
To round off our term, we took part in a beautiful Easter celebration service ✝️ at the church. We sang wonderfully and made both our parents and carers very proud. It was a lovely moment to reflect and celebrate together as a school community.
On Friday, we enjoyed our well-earned Pride of Elm treat—a silent disco! 💃 There was lots of laughter, great energy, and some fantastic dance moves on display. It was a joyful and memorable way to celebrate all of our hard work this term.
