Year One's new Science learning is 'Plants' this half-term. Please take a look at the Knowledge Organiser above to find out more about the key knowledge and skills that your child will be developing in the coming weeks.
The children were excited to plant seeds and seedlings, some inside and some outside in our Year One courtyard area this week. Muddy hands were working hard to dig, plant, give the plants the space they needed and then a good watering! The children are comparing the conditions needed to grow healthy cress in different parts of the classroom. Outside, they are nurturing the plants so that they can grow healthy and strong. Hopefully their flowers will bloom all throughout the Summer Term!
Thank you for ensuring that your child has outside clothes for Forest Schools Tuesdays. As the plants in Wild Space really begin to grow and spread, it is really important that arms and legs are covered to prevent stings and scrapes. The right clothing also gives the children the freedom to get as muddy as they like in their exploration of Wild Space! Thank you for your continued support in this.
